HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR NORTH AND WEST FACING SHORES

Surf along north facing shores will be 12 to 16 feet today.

Surf along west facing shores will be 8 to 12 feet today.

Surf along east facing shores will be 3 to 6 feet today.

Surf along south facing shores will be 2 feet or less today.

Outlook through Friday Mar 9: the northwest swell will become more northerly late today and north northeasterly on Monday. The north northeasterly swell is then expected to become more northeasterly and increase in size, peaking sometime Tuesday into Wednesday. This will likely result in warning level surf and possible localized coastal flooding along east facing shores through Thursday.

The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average height of the one third largest waves, in the zone of maximum refraction. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.
